Birds slap the tag on Jackson

*over-rated cry baby
Yesterday the Philadelphia Eagles announced that they placed the franchise tag on WR Desean Jackson.  Not much of a surprise, Jackson's a big part of our offense, but is he really worth the money?  Jackson made around 500k last year, but now with the franchise tag on him, he automatically will be making 9.5 million dollars next year....Is Jackson really worth that money?  That salary puts him in the average salaries of the top 5 receivers in the league, in my opinion hes definitely not worth it.  The guy's been scared to go over the middle since he got knocked out by a Falcons defensive back.  He hasn't been consistent enough for me to throw him in a category of top 5 receivers in the league, maybe top 20 if hes lucky.  The eagles could have spent the money elsewhere, like on defensive coaches/position players, somewhere where they actually needed to improve. I'm disappointed in this move, anyone else?

  1. I agree, it is disappointing. But the Eagles always seem to make poor decisions so this isn't surprising to me. I guess we will see what happens...

  2. I think that money could have been used better in other areas as well. It would be really nice to be Desean Jackson right now though.
